About This Issue
Conceived in February, 2007, Faraway saw its first issue published in April, 2007, after many trials and much hard work. Seventy copies were printed, many of them in full-color, along with CD-ROMs containing supplementary material and individualized, hand-painted covers. Despite an amateurish look in comparison with later issues, the first issue was jam-packed with material from a number of authors, and included several segments that were done away with in later issues, such as The Writers’ Bloc, in which authors discussed their experiences in creating, and a dedicated art section, as opposed to later issues, which featured art interspered throughout the issue. Weighing in at 62 pages, issue one is the longest issue to date and was a stepping-stone to more writers and artists and a more polished look.
