Volume 2 : Issue 1, March 2008
We began our second volume with our best issue yet. Centered around seasonal images by Scott Sawyer and verses by Daniel Sawyer, this fourth issue is modeled on medieval manuscripts. The idea went through many iterations before finally arriving in this completed, visually-stunning form, which looks like an old book and is broken into Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring, with corresponding and elaborate frontispieces. This is the most diverse issue, both in terms of content, and the number of authors and artists involved. Joining the Faraway family were noted artist Michael Woodcock, essayist Chris Michno, whose essay Living In Eden allowed us to also display stunning artwork from Souther California artists Marco Zamora, Tom Skelly, Gary Keith, Tom Herberg, and Dan Van Clapp, as well as Alfred Scolari, Howard Catswell, Val Murah, Katie Heinig, Eliza Ebro, Sylvia Noyola and photographer Farah Sosa.
