Volume 2 : Issue 3, Spring 2009
About this issue
We tried to do something simpler with this one: inspired by the title of the Nine Inch Nails song “The Line Begins to Blur”, we went for a kind of Mondrian / straight lines theme that gradually becomes more blurred, curved, etc. In our minds, it had a certain kind of symbolism and resemblance to daily experiences (e.g., the main character from Camus’ The Fall comes to mind). Easy!
4 months later the current issue is on your screen. boo. I think we basically executed this concept, with Sean Wiebe’s last lines of the first half “…a new thought that has been slow in coming” leading to Jeff’s two explosive centerpieces and subsequently more abstract, natural images. This one might have been labored to death, but see what you think.
It features short stories, poems, and creative artwork by two dozen contributors.

I might be overly critical here – “Superb.”
Loved it. Excellent work, Daniel.
Thanks, Dave, but I can’t claim any credit for the look of this issue. It was laid out entirely by our resident designer, Scott Sawyer. I think it looks great too, and is visually our most cohesive issue. Not to mention the stories, poems, and artwork within the issue, all of which are fantastic.
